RIDES TO CHURCH: The church van is available to pick up anyone needing a ride to church. If you need a ride, call the church office Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Communion is 1st Sunday of each month.
Publishing Deadlines: If you would like to put something in the weekly newsletter, it must be at the church office by 12:00 p.m. Monday afternoon. The Church Bulletin information must be at the church office by 3:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
Prayer List Policy: All names on the prayer list will remain for 30 days. If you feel someone still needs prayer after that time, please call the church office and make that request.
MISSION PROJECT: John 21:15, ...Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?" "Yes Lord, " he said "you know that I love you." Jesus said "Feed my Lambs." As we begin our new mission project this week let's remember that Jesus is verifying our willingness to serve his people. This is one way we are able to show our love of the Lord. If you know someone who could use a visit or some nourishment please contact the office so we can put them on the list. See you soon. /font>
MENTOR PROGRAM: The UMYF needs mentors and is starting a mentor program for our kids. If there is a youth that you would like to mentor or if you would just like to be involved with the program there is a sign up sheet in the narthex or you can contact Justin on his cell or by email for more information. This program is designed to connect our youth with our congregation.
Pictorial Directories: If you did not have a picture taken, and would like to purchase a directory, they are $5 each. Contact Linda Whitten at 286-3126.
CHILDREN'S BULLETINS: We are now offering Children's Bulletins on Sundays. We have 2 age groups available, 3-6 and 7-12 year olds. If you have a child who would like one, please ask one of the ushers.
Visitation Requests: If anyone knows of any member who is unable to attend or get out, or would like a pastoral visit, please call the church office at 286-6573 to let us know.
Library News: Our church library now has a computer. The library has a large selection of fiction and non-fiction books and many excellent biographies. You might want to browse through the inspirational section and look through the cookbooks too. To check out a book, just write your name and and the date on the card in the back book cover and place it in the box on the desk. Then Happy Reading!
McCurtain County Christmas Council: If you would like to donate funds to the McCurtain County Christmas Council food drive this year, please have your donation to the church office by December 9th. You can make the check out to FUMC, and in the memo field put Christmas Council. If you would be able to help pack baskets, they will be putting them together the 12th-17th and delivery will be the 17th.
With Sympathy: Our deepest sympathies go out to the Jennings family. R. E. (Doc) Jennings passed away Saturday March 24.
RED BIRD MISSION LABELS: Keep saving those Campbell’s labels, Tyson A+ labels, and Box Tops for Education. Our labels helped fund a summer youth program which ministered daily to 40 youth at the Queendale Campus. Please continue to turn in labels to the church office or just put in the offering plate on Sunday morning. All labels are sent in at the end of each month, so be sure to bring them to the office before the end of the month. See list below.
WELCOME: We welcome new member Robin Wood to our church family. Robin transfers from Broken Bow UMC. Please take a moment to say welcome.
CONGRATULATIONS: To parents Matt and Becky Stone, and grandparents John and Sheila DeWitt on the Baptism of Ethan John Stone Sunday, January 22.
SPECIAL THANK YOU: Thank you so very much to all of the people who voluntarily keep our church looking great: Lawn: Horace Britton, Jerry Goad, & Jack Griffin. Flower beds: Lindasu Griffin & Kathy Mixon. Flower pots: Margaret Fuller.
COOKBOOKS: Mary Martha Circle still has a few cookbooks left for sale. They are $15 each, or 2 for $25, and make great gifts.
